RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN LEVEL OF EDUCATION AND LEVEL OF KNOWLEDGE REGARDING CERVICAL CANCER AMONG WOMEN OF CHILDBEARING AGE, TRUJILLO

Cervical cancer (CC) represents a significant public health issue; its prevention is linked to Sustainable Development Goal 3, which aims to ensure access to sexual and reproductive health information and services. This study aimed to determine the relationship between educational attainment and the level of knowledge regarding CC among women of reproductive age. The research was observational, analytical, cross-sectional, and relational in nature, employing a quantitative approach. The study population consisted of 162 women of reproductive age. The results showed that the majority possessed a low-to-moderate level of knowledge regarding CC (50.6%) and its preventive measures (54.9%). Regarding educational attainment, higher education (44.4%) and secondary education (40.7%) were the most common levels. Although a trend toward greater knowledge was observed among women with higher levels of education, the chi-square (χ²) test did not show a relationship between the variables (p = 0.223). It was concluded that there is no statistically significant relationship between the dependent and independent variables.
